Poète, écrivain.
En 1735, il est scolarisé au Balliol College d'Oxford,il est bachelier ès arts en 1741.
En 1760, il est Magister artium du u King's College de Cambridge.
Il est par la suite Vicaire de Holm Lacy dans le Herefordshire et directeur de l'école libre de Hereford.
En 1760, il obtient une prébende de Piona Parva* à l'église de Hereford.
En 1762, il publie A sermon on Exodus.
En 1767, il obtient une prébende à Barsham.
Il est recteur de l'èvêché, vicaire de Sellack, en 1783.
En 1790, il publie à Dublin, A new Translation of Telemachus in English verse
