To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the renowned royal harpsichord maker Diego Fernandez (1775-2025), FIMTE will host its 16th international symposium at the Auditorium of Vera in Almería, Andalusia, from October 24 to 26, 2025. This event is part of the 26th International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music, which will feature concerts, expert lectures, and workshops.

Since the 1985 tercentenary, substantial research has advanced regarding Scarlatti and his creative environment. Specific themes include, but are not limited to:

Scarlatti's sonatas: analysis of sources and variations, styles, performance practices

Music printing and the trade of keyboard music: the role of collectors and amateurs

The circulation and trade of keyboard instruments

The circulation of composers

Keynote Speakers : Michael Latcham ; John Koster. University of South Dakota (emeritus) ; Barry Ife.  Research Professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama
