Dutch-Flemish Society for Music Theory : Rhythm

12-13 March 2022, Den Haag
International conference
Call for papers
Royal Conservatoire The Hague, The Netherlands

The Dutch-Flemish Society for Music Theory, in collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, is pleased to announce an international conference around the theme of Rhythm. There is a wide array of possible topics, as long as they relate to the phenomenon of rhythm in one way or another. This can include historical, theoretical and/or analytical approaches, education aspects, and performance practice, but other perspectives are possible as well.

The Society welcomes all proposals pertaining to rhythm, in either lecture or lecture-recital format. We emphatically strive to include a broad spectrum of styles and genres in the program. Lectures are to be held in English or Dutch.

Abstracts should be max. 250 words and should be suitable for publication in the conference program. They should not contain the name of the author or any indications of the author’s identity. Please include a short biographical note in a separate Word document (three to four sentences). All abstracts will be evaluated anonymously.

Abstracts and biographical notes should be sent by 15 November 2021 to DFSMT secretary Ralf Pisters at ralf.pisters@ahk.nl. You will be notified of acceptance no later than 15 January.
