The Northeast Popular/American Culture Association (NEPCA) is seeking paper proposals on Music in Popular Culture for its fall conference. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
Please submit your paper proposals by following the 2017 Paper Proposals link at https://nepca.blog/2017-conference/. You should alert area chair Cory Matieyshen (cmatieyshen -at- gmail.com) that you have put forth a proposal. You may also contact the area chair for advice on shaping your proposal and (ultimately) your presentation.
NEPCA presentations are generally 15-20 minutes in length and may be delivered either formally or informally. It also sponsors flash presentations based on the PechaKucha model: 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide, 7 minutes in total (see http://www.pechakucha.org/faq for more information). NEPCA prides itself on holding conferences that emphasize sharing ideas in a non-competitive and supportive environment consisting of graduate students, independent scholars, junior faculty, and senior scholars.
