The South-Central Chapter of the American Musicological Society (AMS-SC) is pleased to announce its 2017 Annual Meeting, to be hosted by the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.  The meeting will begin on the morning of Friday, March 17, and will conclude by noon on Saturday, March 18. Daniel Goldmark (Case Western Reserve University) will deliver the keynote address.

Proposals for presentations, special sessions, papers with a performance component, and panel discussions in all areas of scholarship related to music are solicited. Presentations will be limited to twenty minutes, with an additional ten minutes allotted for questions and discussion. Proposals should include an abstract of no more than 350 words, suitable for publication in the conference program. Abstracts should be concise but thorough and clearly indicate the scope of your research, the research methods employed, and your conclusions.

Proposals should consist of a single Microsoft Word or PDF document that includes no identifying information but only the title and abstract of the presentation, attached to an email that gives the presenter's full contact information, presentation title, A/V requirements, and a short bio (100 words or less). For a proposal submitted by a student, a separate email message from an adviser or other faculty member should be sent to the Program Committee Chair to verify student status. Student members of the AMS-SC whose abstracts are selected by the program committee will be eligible to compete in the Rey M. Longyear Student Paper Competition.
