Il est le premier compositeur italien à avoir écrit des madrigaux à
trois voix. Une partie de ses compositions est écrite à Milan entre 1340
et 1355.
Suite à un concours à la cour de Vérone,
sous Massimo II della Scala, avec
Piero et Johannes de Florentia, il est déclaré
artis musice peritissimus.
Une partie de sa musique est notée à la fois en graphie italienne et
française.
