The Music program at The Graduate Center, CUNY presents its 20th annual Graduate Students in Music (GSIM) conference, “Music and/as Discipline.” The conference will feature a keynote address by Prof. William Cheng, titled "Twelve Pro Tricks Musicians Dont Want You to Know. You Won't Believe Number 8!" Conference participants and attendees are also invited to attend a student-led seminar, during which we will discuss two chapters from Prof. Cheng's recent book, Just Vibrations: The Purpose of Sounding Good (2016).
Additionally, the conference will feature twelve presentations by graduate students from across North America, moderated by Graduate Center faculty, and focusing on interdisciplinary topics related to sounded phenomena. Please join us at what promises to be an exciting event!
